Hibari Oume (青梅 ひばり Oume Hibari) is a 16 year old friend of Kiyose Matsumoto, Akitsu Otake, and Makoto Sayama. Her friends sometimes call her by her nickname, Ume.

As of Chapter 26, she is the new master of Goge.

Appearance

Oume Color

She has light pink hair with eyes that match with the same color. In all of her appearances she has been shown wearing a yellow headband with a white flower on it. Oume is rather short when compared to her classmates, and in a SJ USA interview Stan Lee and Takei have stated that her height has shown very poor growth. Due to her age, she is often seen in her Senjo Academy uniform. At Sayama's party, she wears a light-colored dress with heels, and a black headband.

In Chapter 26, when she is revealed as the new master of Goge, Oume wears her iconic headband, and she wears a dark wristband, whose color matches the sleeve ends and collar of her blouse. Oume also wears a dark party skirt lengthening above the knee.

Personality

Oume is known for her hyper personality, and her skills in Karate. Like many others, she seems to be annoyed by Yamato's loud behavior that's almost equal to hers. In Ultimo Ulate, it was revealed that she does not like being called "short", or anything else relating to her size.

Synopsis

Part I

Oume can be first seen panicking among the crowd in Chapter 2. She is properly shown in Chapter 3, when she exclaims the whole story to Akitsu Otake, Kiyose Matsumoto, and Makoto Sayama, though no one believes her until she says that Yamato and Rune were involved.

As Yamato is about to enter Senjo Academy in Chapter 7, Oume painfully punches him in the stomach, because she wanted to cheer him up. As the girls talk about Yamato's horrific incidents the day before and about Rune's disappearance, Oume shouts that it must have something to do with the "flying child". Rune quickly comes to school and says that he was just simply shooken up in response. In Chapter 9, she is seen unconscious and tied up in Jealous' spider web, along with the rest of the class.

Part II

In Chapter 13, she greets Yamato by punching him as she is riding her bike. She is later seen at Sayama's party, where she kicks Yamato in the face with heels on, telling him that he is causing trouble.

Part III

In Chapter 21, she receives memories from Eco about her past. In Chapter 26 she is introduced as the new master of Goge, along with the other members of The Good Dôji Club.

Relationships

Oume and goge

Oume and Goge.

Yamato Agari

Like Sayama, Akitsu, and Kiyose, Oume has met Yamato in 5th grade, as shown in Ultimo Ulate, but it is respectively shown that they don't get along. Hibari often turns abrasive whenever he's present and calls him an "idiot", particularly when Yamato calls her "short". But there are also times when Ume hits Yamato whenever she gets excited such as the bus incident where she punched him as an introduction in both times. As she grew older, their relationship become more so-so, but she is still abusive towards him, such as punching him whenever she sees him or kicking him with her heels during Sayama's party when he makes a fuss about Akira Hidaka.

Goge

In Chapter 27, Oume appears in front of the dôji masters with the contemplation dôji after Hiroshi Kumegawa is gravely injured by Vice. Presently little is known about their relationship, when and how they did the pledge, and whether they get along or not.
